Chef De Partie

  • Job Description:

    Role: Team Member
    Reporting To: Head Chef / Sous Chef
    Department: Kitchen
    Hours: Full Time - 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis. Shifts will be a mixture of splits and straights, depending on business requirements.
    Salary: Up to £12.50 per hour, to be discussed based on previous experience.

    The County Hotel, Chelmsford is expanding their kitchen operation and are therefore looking to recruit a Chef De Partie on a full-time basis.

    There is the possibility of live-in accommodation at a decent rate (including utilities and food), if required for a suitable candidate.

  • The Company:

    The hotel is a 4 star city-centre 58 bedroom hotel, featuring the award-winning 1 AA Rosette Samphire Restaurant with busy conference and banqueting facilities in the heart of Chelmsford.

  • The Role:

    Working to produce excellent breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, room service and bar meals.

    Cooking to high standards for our 1 AA Rosette Restaurant.

    Producing large volumes of food at a consistently high standard for conference and banqueting guests.

    Looking ahead at forecasted numbers and ensure your section is adequately prepared.

    Ensuring that all guests requests / food orders are given a prompt and efficient service and expectations are consistently exceeded.

  • Experience:

    Have experience of working in a busy kitchen and potentially looking to progress to Sous Chef in the long term.

    This would be the ideal role for an already established Chef De Partie or Demi-Chef De Partie looking for their next step up, preferably within a hotel setting.

  • Pay:

    Up to £12.50 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 per week

Hotel Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

  • Job Description:

    Reporting To: Food & Beverage Manager
    Department: Food & Beverage
    Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis. There may be an opportunity for overtime based on business requirements.
    Salary: Up to £25,500 per annum, plus gratuities, based on previous experience.

    A rare opportunity has arisen where The County Hotel, Chelmsford is looking to recruit an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, to support our Food & Beverage Manager in running the F&B department, consisting of 15 personnel.

    The current incumbent is moving abroad. This role would not commence until August, where there would be a handover period with the current Assistant F&B Manager.

    There is the possibility of live-in accommodation at a decent rate (including utilities and food), if required for a suitable candidate.

  • The Role:

    Lead the Food & Beverage team on shifts and partake in Duty Manager shifts.

    Assist the Food & Beverage Manager in the running of the department, including a variety of administrative tasks.

    Provide guests with all service and assistance connected with their food and beverage experience at the hotel.

    Delivering four star service to our guests within the restaurant, bar and conference & banqueting facilities, as well as for our alfresco outdoor dining and room service.

    Offering good levels of rapport in our restaurant for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner service.

    Setting up function rooms and assisting in hosting a wide range of events at the hotel.

    Having natural hospitality charm and a real passion for service.

    The ability to communicate effectively with all members of staff and management and paying close attention to detail is imperative.

    The shifts for the role of Assistant Food & Beverage Manager will generally include 07:00-12:00, 07:00-15:00, 08:00-16:00, 15:00-23:00 and 12:00-22:30, however alternative shifts may also be required for business needs.

  • Experience:

    A minimum of 2 years customer service experience and 2 years hospitality experience. We will consider candidates who are currently a Food & Beverage Supervisor, Restaurant Supervisor, Bar Supervisor or Conference & Banqueting Supervisor, ideally within a hotel setting, but this is not mandatory.

    The successful candidate must be 18 years of age or older as they will be serving on the bar independently at times.

    This would be the ideal role for an experienced Supervisor within hotels, looking for their next step up.
