The Lord Chamberlain's men return to Hylands with one of Shakespeare's most popular comedies!
In the year that marks the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death, The Lord Chamberlain's Men invite you to join them his summer for Shakespeare's sparkling, battle-of-the-sexes comedy, Much Ado About Nothing.

The Scrapbook Safari sessions are run throughout the year either at the weekend or during the school holidays. The Safaris are an opportunity for children to enjoy a guided exploration at Hylands along with others of a similar age. The Safaris are aimed at primary school aged children and so we ask that for safety reasons children are accompanied.

Open air cinema comes to Chelmsford this summer as The Luna Cinema turns the beautiful Hylands House into the ultimate setting for three nights of classic films under the stars. Bring a picnic or enjoy the fantastic hot food and full bar on site.
On 13 September, join Finn and Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens as they unite with Hans Solo against the evil Kylo Ren and the First Order to ensure the Resistance receive intelligence concerning the whereabouts of the last Jedi Knight, Luke Skywalker.

The Tuesday Toddle sessions are run approximately every month throughout the year, with a break during the school summer holiday period. The Toddles are an opportunity for parents with pre-school children to enjoy a guided walk in the park and garden areas surrounding Hylands House along with other parents with children of a similar age. The routes chosen for the walk on the whole take into account those with pushchairs although a short detour maybe necessary from time to time to avoid steps etc. Maximum of three children per adult.

Come and experience the magic and tranquillity of a woodland setting with one of our rare breed horses. The day will include a logging demonstration in the woods then having a go at it yourselves. You will experience what a horse loggers day in the woods involves including tea breaks and lunch in the great outdoors. Meet at the Stables Visitor Centre.

An exhibition of stitched textiles by members of the Embroiderers' Guild. The theme this year is 'Landscapes and Gardens' as part of the national celebration of the anniversary of Lancelot 'Capability' Brown.

The Fling Festival returns to Hylands Park, Chelmsford on Saturday 2 July, 2016.

Essex Boot camp have vigorous exercise sessions at various parks in Chelmsford. These run continuously throughout the year, at Beaulieu Park (Monday, Wednesday and Friday), Hylands Park (Saturday) and Admirals Park (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday).
