Awards

The County Hotel are proud to hold both a Silver  Award and a 3 Star Hotel Award as well as our Breakfast Award from EnjoyEngland, The official British Tourist Board for England. The County Hotel also won the 'Best Large Hotel Category' in the Essex Tourism Awards (in association with Essex County Council) along with a prestigious AA Rosette Award for Culinary Excellence for The County Kitchen.

VisitEngland’s unique Gold and Silver awards are given to recognise exceptional quality within a property's star rating, or for exceeding a star rating. Serviced accommodation (hotels and guest accommodation) are eligible to receive either a Silver or Gold award.

Venues need to be a member of VisitEngland’s Quality Assessment Scheme in order to be eligible for an award.

Serviced Accommodation (for Hotels) requirements are as follows:

Consistent levels of high quality must be demonstrated in all key areas identified by guests (paying customers) as very important. High quality scores have to be achieved in the following:

• Housekeeping
• Hospitality
• Service
• Bedrooms
• Bathrooms
• Food
