The 3foot People Festival 2015

The 3foot People Festival will return to Hylands Park on 30 June, 1 & 2 July 2015 to celebrate its 10th Anniversary.


This award winning event (Best Event 2014 Essex Mums, Best Festival 2014 Essex Tourism and Hospitality Awards, Best Outdoor Event 2014 Runner Up Primary Times Star Awards) curated especially for pre-school children, welcomes nearly 13,000 big (and little) people across 3 days within the beautiful grounds of Hylands Estate.

Heavy Horse Experience for Children

This exciting session is run by Claudia Waller, a Partner of Hawthorn Heavy Horses based at Hylands park, who specialises in the use of working horses for forestry and conservation work. Claudia has a BSc in Equine Studies and 12 years experience of working Heavy Horses.

Harold Huxley & the Flying Dragon: Book Signing and Storytelling


On Thursday 28 May during the half term holiday, Emma McNalley will be visiting Hylands to tell the wonderful story of Harold Huxley & the Flying Dragon. She created Harold Huxley in 2013 based on a story she wrote when she was a small girl and had the idea of a househog when she bought a hedgehog door stop a couple of years ago!

All About Dogs

Robin Hood Family Theatre Show at Hylands Estate

Cambridge Touring Theatre once again enchants audiences at Hylands with this wonderful adaptation of Robin Hood. The Guardian says 'has families rolling around their picnic mats with laughter'. Full of music, song and plenty of high jinks not to be missed. Bring along your own picnic for a great family afternoon out.

Horse Logging Experience Day

Come and experience the magic and tranquillity of a woodland setting with one of our rare breed horses. The day will include a logging demonstration in the woods then having a go at it yourselves. You will experience what a horse loggers day in the woods involves including tea breaks and lunch in the great outdoors. Meet at the Stables Visitor Centre.

Throw in the pompous steward Malvolio, two drunken lords, a grouchy fool and a practical joke that goes much too far and the stage is set for hilarity and chaos reign!
