Pleshey Castle Tour

This is a great opportunity to visit earthworks usually closed to the public.

 

Nick Wickenden, Museums Manager for Chelmsford City Council, will lead the tours, which start at the castle at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm.

A day of  drop-in archaeological activities for all the family.

 

No need to book. 

 

A Chance to find out more about the Roman town of Caesaromagus at Moulsham by sorting and identifying a tray of finds from a dig. 

 

Bring in your own mystery objects for identification!

 

Children can make and keep a Roman mosaic, clay oil lamp and  try on Roman armour.

 

Members of ‘Heritage Writtle’ will be on hand to help you have a go at dowsing and metal detecting.
