Easter Egg Trail

Answer questions and follow clues on the Easter egg trail at the Museum.

 

It costs 50p to enter and you have a chance of winning the giant egg!

 

Winner will be drawn at random from completed and correct entries after the Easter break.

Our next teacher forum/working group is due to be held on friday 25 April 2014 at Chelmsford Museum, 1.30pm for 2pm start.  Working in partnership with local teachers and museum/heritage education professionals, we discuss what teachers need to implement the new history National Curriculum and what support we can provide.

Mr Grinling’s Electrical Problems

Come and join us in preparation for National Science and Engineering week (14th - 23rd March 2014)


Based on the stories of Mr Grinling the Lighthouse Keeper, you can build ‘circuits with a purpose' - to light the lighthouse and to turn the pulleys which bring Mr Grinling his lunch.


You can also try building a variety of switches for circuits which trigger a burglar alarm, torch or light a fridge.

Part of the history for adults series 2014, this illustrated talk by Yvonne Lawrence followed by guided gallery visit explores Chelmsford's development, looking at three specific influences - the town's early importance as a market; the influence of the Mildmay family from Tudor to late Georgian times; and the industrial giants - including Marconi - who opened their factories here in the late nineteenth century.
